Review 6/26/2009
I had to stop the bathroom job after FLOOR SHINE was used to seal tumbled marble stone instead of stone sealer. Tile guy, who was either sick or without transportation for almost 2 weeks argued with me and the Tile Stoor Manager of D and B in Delray who I brought in on speaker phone to figure out how to remove wrong product that was purchased in their store so it could be sealed. Tile guy aruged that he knew what he was doing and that if he doesn't get to finish the job he" would rip off every tile on the wall". Can't imagine how long that would have taken given the job in the 10 by 10 bathroom was going on 2 weeks! And, he tells you everyday that "I'll be there in a few hours" so you wait home all day. Owner won't take your calls. Only your money. Thought it was odd that he didn't answer his cell phone from day one "I don't know how to check my messages" he claimed so don't call me on my cell just call the office. When you do that, the person answering phones and scheduling everything replies that " I am the only corporate officer you will deal with ". Sadly, she isn't the one that makes the job promises. She informed me "sealing stone wasn't in my contract." Clever way to write a contract. Regardless, you would expect sealing tumbled marble to be part of a workmanlike install job anyway. Clearly they knew they needed to seal it or they wouldn't have purchased a product to do so. The owner shook his head firmly yes when I said I wanted a certain type of seal used and then said "my writing is bad so I had my wife do the contract". Since she wasn't present at the bidding meeting, no wonder nothing was correct. Owner doesn't answer his cell phone or take any calls from customers after he receives up front money. Regardless, the application of floor shine prevented it from being sealed until stone can be stripped and re emulsified. Additionally, I was told that "this is all your fault since no permits were pulled" !!! yes, you are reading this correctly. "Corporate officer" says they "couldn't send the guys that had the working vehicles because YOU didn't pull permits" . NOTHING is their fault. You are blamed for workers with no transportation. Tile guy claims "that's what the store sold me" in response to the question about what responsibility he was going to take for not reading bottle and putting it on the wall, he began shouting and ranting he had been doing tile since he was 14 as if that was relevent to the situation. Given that 11 people have filed reports with BBB claiming work wasn't done that was in the contract. Good luck! They left a huge "un workmanlike" mess in my courtyard after using wet saw without covering the tiles because they never brought promised plastic. Response when questioned was "I can't be expected to remember everything". loose tiles all over bathroom, on the floor, around window and nothing was patched or polished as promised. Obviously this was more that the 4 tiles he claimed were all that wasn't finished. That, along with removing floor shine, sealing, replacing loose tiles and grouting left me with a full two days worth of labor. Then, they stole my grout which I had paid for on a credit card. Fixtures that had already been paid for up front as part of the plumbing portion were also removed from the premises. Additionally , the plumbing doesn't allow the replacement fixture to fit as it too was done incorrectly. In short it was a very bad experience from start to...floor shine (can't say finished).
