At the request of a person advertising an apartment on craigslist, my wife and I both enrolled with creditreport.com and signed up for free trial memberships so that we could show our scores to the landlady. I gave my credit card information to the website, assured that it wouldn't be charged until the end of the trial period, and then clicked on the "view my report" button. APPARENTLY, that was for a 3-bureau report, which is not the company's standard product, and it costs $29.95 above and beyond the membership fee. There was no information anywhere saying that my card would charged for this product, how much it cost, or that it was a premium product. I was offered the 3-bureau report before seeing my membership homepage, and so I never got a chance to see that the info I needed did not require the 3-bureau report.
Like everyone else here, I called to cancel, and had to answer a bunch of questions and reject the cheaper service before actually canceling my membership, and I had no luck getting a refund on the report. This company is a predatory lying fear-mongering scam!
