I live in a building managed by these slumlords. This was a beautiful, clean, and quiet place. They took over 6 months ago and I might as well move to the ghetto. The smoke alarms don't work, there are broken windows, the washer/dryers are broken. Any time anyone complains, they just say OK and never respond. If you complain too much, they threaten to evict you. This place has become a total dump. My friend lived in apartment manged by them and some of the apartments were sinking. They knew about this and did NOTHING. Well, finally, the apartments slid and sunk. The fire dept. gave my friend 15 minutes to grab what he could. He lost everything else. Cal Oaks put him in a crappy hotel for 1 week and said he could rent at one of their other places. No apology, nothing. The only thing these people are concerned with is collecting their money. They could care less if their tenants are happy or safe.
