Review 6/15/2010
In March of 2007 I purchased a used F-150 from Capital Ford (Raleigh, NC) in business' name, with my business insurance. The CFO of Capital Ford told me I could receive a lower interest rate on the truck if I purchased GAP insurance from NAB, I agreed and purchased the insurance. In December of 2009 my F-150 was being worked on by a friend and it caught fire and was totaled. My insurance company sent me a check for the value of the truck, and I filed a GAP claim to make up for the difference in what I owed on the vehicle. Weeks and weeks went by, and every time I called to check the status of my claim they replied they needed some other paperwork, which I then supplied. After months of going through this they have ruined my credit because I still had a monthly payment on the vehicle that they should have taken care of, and they have now denied my claim claiming it was a commercial vehicle. As I stated to them, I purchased the truck for my personal use. I drove it back and forth to work every day just like anyone else would. It is a F-150, not a F-250, 350, 450, or 550...it cannot haul anything, except for itself down the road. I went back to Capital Ford who said that they were a licensed insurance dealer for this company, they directed me to call the NC Department of Insurance, who directed me to call the Attorney General's office, who directed me to fill out this claim.
